“Okay, but it's night, and since the Moon is ou—”
“No,” interrupted the teacher, with humor in their voice. “ You're wrong.”
“But the Moon affects the—”
“Nope!”
“The tides are affec—”
“Incorrect!”
“Can you at least let me finish speaking?” I said, forcing a smile
through my annoyance, but my request fell to deaf ears as the teacher
turned back to the two young ones.
I gazed at the sky in frustration, looking at the Moon again. It looked… Bigger than I remembered. And the drawings, weirdly, weren't the same either…
Somewhere else, I could see another Moon—the one I remembered. Over twice smaller, with the same old rabbit drawing in it.
That's when it hit me. That wasn't the Moon.
It was getting bigger.
It was falling on us.
